Solitudes in Black and White

If you feel you need to get away from it all for a while, retreat to Galerie Roger Bellemare and get lost in their current exhibition Deserts rivages et autres solitudes.

On display are a selected works by well-known artists such as M. Barbeau, Ch. Gagnon, A. Giacometti, J. Heward, F. Leduc, J. Marchand, and A. Pellan. The underlying theme of the exhibit is the concept of solitude, expressed in the black-and-white photography of desert landscapes by Gagnon, the loose pencil sketches of Giacometti, or the minimalist white canvas by Leduc. All works in this exhibition (except for one painting by Barbeau) are in black and white, creating an elegant coherence despite the artists’ various techniques and aesthetics.
