You have until Saturday to visit Galerie Donald Browne and see the exhibit New Works by Monique Mongeau. Mongeau presents her recent photographs and minimalist drawings of curly roots, twisted twigs and absent leaves. The large white paper onto which Mongeau captures the outlines of random scatterings of needles and leaves look nearly bare as she draws more of an absence than a presence, the mere imprint of a memory. The tall black-and-white photos of thin, tangled roots, nearly as tall as the observer, emit a delicate, nearly human presence.
