For its inaugural exhibition as Laroche/Joncas (formely Projex-Mtl Galerie) we are very pleased to present the second solo exhibition of new paintings by New-York City based artist Yves Tessier. Yves Tessier’s previous exhibition with the gallery was in October 2009. In his ongoing chronicles of the everyday life begun in 2001, Tessier adds to this body of work new genre scenes of recent situations.

 
Humorous and personal, these paintings are the result of an elaborate process that includes life drawings from observation and the use of images appropriated from advertisements and photographs translated into drawings. Then, his use of casein on small wood panels allows him to construct narrative compositions portraying private moments where sensuality and desire play an important role.
