The 2010 Journées de la Culture are upon us! Here is a list of some of the unique activities happening for the Parcours Belgo which takes place this Saturday, September 25th from 12-5pm.
Maison Kasini – Galerie Maison Kasini artists Px(C) (Benoit Depelteau) and Carl David Ruttan will conduct a Make Your Own Collage workshop. The gallery will have a workspace and materials and visitors will interact with the artists in small groups on an ongoing basis throughout the day and make collages to take home with them.

Visual Voice Art Gallery – The I Like Myself Workout is a fusion of artist Richard Rossetto’s boxing and artistic practices. Through the repetition of simple encouraging sentences such as “I like myselfâ€, the artist incorporated positivity training into his boxing workout.  For the Journées de la cultureevent, Rossetto will paint negative words suggested to him at random by gallery visitors onto a heavy bag installed in the gallery. He will then punch the bag, smudging the word and thereby erasing the negativity.

Studio 303 – Action/Reaction is an interactive performance with Steven Horwoodwhere the public gets involved in a live art piece propelled in the future. A unique chance to demystify performance art and discuss with the creator afterwards.

Regroupement pour la promotion de l’art imprimé (ARPRIM) – ARPRIM is hosting Buffet à Imprimer: All You Can Print where visitors are encouraged to created their very own printed masterpiece by using the mundane yet endless amusing photocopy machine.

Galerie Push– Photoshoot workshop by artist Robyn Cumming as well as a guided tour of her exhibition Frisette.

Galerie Pierre François Ouellette – Book launch and talk by artist Dil Hildebrand, as well as a guided tour of the current exhibition Peepshow.

SODEP- After the days activites come to an end, SODEP is extending an invitation to all participants of the Parcours Belgo to a closing celebrations at Studio 303. Drinks and orderves will be served as organizers reveal the names of this year’s best cultural publications.

All galleries will be open for the Parcours Belgo and most will be offering guided tours of their current exhibitions as well as the opportunity to meet some of the artists. So come out and spend the day being enlightened by a world of contemporary art and dance!
