We’re going on air! I have teamed up with the podcast network No More Radio to produce and host a monthly one-hour talk show about visual arts in and around the Belgo building. Titled (no surprise) The Belgo Report, the podcast won’t replicate this website in any way, but rather serve as a supplement. Every month I’ll sit down with the artists, gallerists, and curators who bring their amazing talent to the building. Aside from the interviews I’ll also recommend a few exhibitions you should see in the building, and I’ll play a few tunes.

For the very first episode of The Belgo Report we are exploring the building itself.
We’ll start by flipping back the calendar about about a hundred years and track the Belgo’s transformation from a mundane commercial building into the epicenter of contemporary art that it is today. Building technician Gordon Clarke, who has been working in the Belgo for the last 30 years, talks about the time when the artists started to move in.
Later in the hour I sit down with artists and gallery owners Chih-Chien Wang and Josée Pedneault from Les Territoires to talk about the gallery’s mandate and many projects, as well as their own creative work, and finally Jennifer Hamilton gives us a tour of her tiny artist’s studio and chats about how her spiritual practices are influencing her paintings.
