If you’ve enjoyed the Déclic 70 photography exhibition at Galerie [sas] and you’d like to find out more about photography in the 70s, you may want to attend their conference this Saturday, lead by curator Nicolas Mavrikakis:
Conference around the exhibition Déclic 70 in the galery SAS
«Painting in Quebec art History was so outstanding that it nearly managed to overshadow the importance that photography had. This last in fact had a leading role in our culture, particulary in the Seventies, when many collectives got involved in the social life of their time. This exhibition, titled Déclic 70, pays tribute to the documentary-inspired images of this auspicious period. »
Nicolas Mavrikakis, Exhibition’s curator.
To discuss the impact of these photos, seized during the watershed years of Quebec, the Gallery SAS organizes in its premises a conference Saturday September 24th at 2 pm. Nicolas Mavrikakis (curator), of Lise Lamarche (art historian), Jean Lauzon and Roger Charbonneau (photographers) will participate in this event.
