Galerie Skol is handing over its exhibition space to allow a group of art students from Concordia University to manage the gallery during their summer break.
Here’s some information as it appears on the Summer Skol blog: “SKOL will host An Atlas, a traveling exhibition of artists working with “radical cartography,†linking together art, geography, and activism in order to recast maps and mapping as tools for social change. New York based curators Alexis Bhagat and Lize Mogel have assembled a group of artists, architects, and collectives who play with cartographic conventions in order to address issues from globalization to garbage. The curators will guest host the reading group’s inaugural meeting on June 18. An Atlas opens on June 20 2008 at 7:30pm and runs until July 8 2008.”
